Speak Your Truth
Speak Your Truth is a monthly two-hour spoken word and open mic event created to foster healing, community, advocacy, and awareness for individuals impacted by coercive control, high-control environments, and excommunication. This trauma-informed program uses the power of storytelling, creative expression, and reflective writing to nurture mental health, inspire change, and build solidarity.
Purpose & Objectives
• Create a safe, expressive space where survivors can reclaim their voice.
• Feature diverse spoken word artists reflecting real-life experiences.
• Encourage audience participation through open mic and guided prompts.
• Raise awareness about coercive control and foster peer support.
• Promote emotional wellness, literacy, and artistic freedom.
